Provides a technical level of understanding in the areas of networking connectivity, data communications concepts and communication protocols. Includes communications, networking concepts, hardware, software, transmission media, access methods, protocols; and network configurations. Addresses system design considerations. Emphasizes local area networks, and installation of a simple local area network. Prepares students to take standard industry certification tests.
